Context for your next agent.

Connect your agent to FXContext, explore structured macro events, and query policy changes.

Connect to FXContext

FXContext is a hosted remote MCP server at https://fx.coco-pier.com/mcp. No account, sign-in, or API key is needed.

Claude (custom connector)

  1. In Claude, open Customize → Connectors.
  2. Choose + Add → Add custom connector.
  3. Name it FX Context, paste https://fx.coco-pier.com/mcp, and click Continue through the detected settings.
  4. Under Authentication, choose No sign in, then click Add.
  5. In a chat, turn on FX Context under + → Connectors.

On Team and Enterprise plans an Owner adds the connector under Organization settings → Connectors. Free plans allow one custom connector. Source: Claude help: Get started with custom connectors using remote MCP.

Other MCP clients

  • Transport: Streamable HTTP
  • Endpoint: https://fx.coco-pier.com/mcp
  • Authentication: none

Enter these in your client's remote (HTTP) MCP server settings. Configuration formats differ between clients. The JSON below is the mcpServers file format used by clients such as Cursor; it is not universal, so check your client's documentation if it uses another format.

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "fxcontext": {
      "url": "https://fx.coco-pier.com/mcp"
    }
  }
}

To run your own instance instead, use ./gradlew bootRun and point your client at http://localhost:8080/mcp.

Get event context

The MCP tool get_event_context accepts an eventType and an optional referencePeriod (in YYYY-MM format). Omitting the period resolves the latest available release of that type.

Supported event types

  • US_CPI: U.S. Consumer Price Index (Headline & Core YoY/MoM from BLS). Includes full historical consensus archive and deterministic surprise.
  • US_NONFARM_PAYROLLS: Employment Situation (Total Nonfarm Payroll change in thousands, Unemployment Rate in %, Hourly Earnings YoY/MoM in % from BLS). Includes pre-release consensus and surprise when available.
  • US_PCE: Personal Consumption Expenditures Price Index (Headline & Core YoY/MoM from BEA). Includes pre-release consensus and surprise when available.
  • US_ISM_MANUFACTURING / US_ISM_SERVICES: headline ISM Manufacturing and Services PMI (diffusion index) from ISM's official releases. Pre-release consensus is not yet captured, so these return consensusStatus: NOT_CAPTURED and no surprise; historical analogs are calibration-gated.

Example: US CPI

Example: US Nonfarm Payrolls

Example: US PCE Inflation

The REST endpoint is GET /api/v1/summary. It returns the latest macro facts across US CPI, Federal Reserve, and ECB policy releases, complete with post-event EURUSD market reaction metrics.

Economic event context

get_event_context

Retrieve structured actual, consensus, surprise, revision, and source context for supported U.S. macro releases: CPI, Nonfarm Payrolls, PCE, and the ISM Manufacturing and Services PMIs.

get_event_context({
  "eventType": "US_CPI"
})

Use it when an agent needs structured factual context for supported macroeconomic releases (US_CPI, US_NONFARM_PAYROLLS, US_PCE, US_ISM_MANUFACTURING, US_ISM_SERVICES). Omitting referencePeriod resolves the latest release.

Central-bank policy changes

get_central_bank_changes

Compare a monetary-policy statement with its immediately preceding statement and identify material changes.

get_central_bank_changes({
  "centralBank": "FEDERAL_RESERVE"
})

Use it when an agent needs to understand what actually changed between central-bank meetings. Supports FEDERAL_RESERVE, ECB, BANK_OF_ENGLAND (BOE), and BANK_OF_JAPAN (BOJ).

Post-event market reaction

get_market_reaction

Retrieve deterministic post-event price-action metrics for EURUSD, GBPUSD, or USDJPY following a supported macroeconomic release (US_CPI, US_NONFARM_PAYROLLS, US_PCE, US_ISM_MANUFACTURING, US_ISM_SERVICES) or central-bank statement (FEDERAL_RESERVE, ECB, BANK_OF_ENGLAND, BANK_OF_JAPAN).

get_market_reaction({
  "targetType": "US_CPI",
  "instrument": "GBPUSD"
})

Use it when an agent needs deterministic price reaction metrics across 5 standardized post-event windows (M5 to H24). Supports US_CPI, US_NONFARM_PAYROLLS, US_PCE, US_ISM_MANUFACTURING, US_ISM_SERVICES, FEDERAL_RESERVE, ECB, BANK_OF_ENGLAND (BOE), and BANK_OF_JAPAN (BOJ; maps to USDJPY) across EURUSD, GBPUSD, and USDJPY (defaults to EURUSD).

Upcoming macro risks

get_upcoming_risks

Retrieve scheduled U.S. macro releases (CPI, NFP, PCE, ISM) and central-bank rate decisions from official release calendars that could affect EURUSD, GBPUSD, or USDJPY.

get_upcoming_risks({
  "instrument": "GBPUSD",
  "horizonHours": 24
})

Look ahead up to 720 hours (30 days). Returns scheduled events only, with an empty list when none fall within the window, plus per-event-type schedule coverage so gaps in a calendar are reported rather than hidden. Currency-sensitive: every pair tracks the U.S. releases (CPI, NFP, PCE, ISM) and the Fed; EURUSD adds the ECB, GBPUSD the BoE, and USDJPY the BoJ.

Historical event analogs

get_historical_analogs

Find and rank individual past U.S. CPI or Nonfarm Payrolls releases sharing similar surprise profiles and compare their observed post-event reactions for EURUSD, GBPUSD, or USDJPY.

get_historical_analogs({
  "eventType": "US_CPI",
  "instrument": "EURUSD",
  "maxAnalogs": 10
})

Use it when an agent needs to retrieve, rank, or inspect specific historical analog cases. Historical observations only; not forecasts or trading signals. Supports US_CPI and US_NONFARM_PAYROLLS across EURUSD, GBPUSD, and USDJPY (defaults to EURUSD). US_PCE and the ISM PMIs return INSUFFICIENT_HISTORICAL_CALIBRATION until enough verified consensus exists.

Historical reaction context

get_historical_reaction_context

Summarize the aggregate reaction pattern across historical U.S. CPI or Nonfarm Payrolls events similar to a selected target event for EURUSD, GBPUSD, or USDJPY.

get_historical_reaction_context({
  "eventType": "US_CPI",
  "instrument": "GBPUSD",
  "limit": 10
})

Use it when an agent needs collective pattern statistics and behavioral classification across similar releases rather than individual case inspection. Supports US_CPI and US_NONFARM_PAYROLLS across EURUSD, GBPUSD, and USDJPY (defaults to EURUSD). The ISM PMIs return INSUFFICIENT_HISTORICAL_CALIBRATION until enough verified consensus exists.

Data you can trace

FXContext ingests from authoritative official primary sources:

  • BLS Consumer Price Index and Employment Situation (Nonfarm Payrolls) releases from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
  • U.S. PCE Price Index from the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA).
  • ISM Manufacturing and Services PMI headline values from the Institute for Supply Management's official press releases (distributed via PR Newswire).
  • Federal Reserve FOMC statements and monetary policy calendars from the Federal Reserve Board of Governors.
  • ECB monetary policy decisions and statement releases from the European Central Bank.
  • Bank of England MPC statements and monetary policy calendars from the Bank of England.
  • Bank of Japan MPM statements and release calendars from the Bank of Japan.

Separation of Provenance: Official actual release data and third-party market expectations retain separate provenance records. Missing consensus values are never fabricated or simulated as zero.

The homepage conversation and “Try it now” response are illustrative fixtures. The preview’s risk ratings and historical market moves are not live calculations. The current event-context tool returns factual event data.

What is available today

FXContext provides public remote MCP service access via Streamable HTTP at https://fx.coco-pier.com/mcp. AI agents can connect directly to query event facts, consensus surprises, central-bank statement differences, upcoming calendar risks, and historical post-event reactions.

This frontend provides product documentation, tool catalog references, and client configuration examples. It does not create accounts, issue API keys, or send queries to a backend. No analytics or third-party tracking scripts are included.
